4.6.3. Using partners
Partner information can be used in different ways in the application:
- View or Filter your Messages
- Related Items
- Restrict Document Access
- Enrich Message Data
- GS1 Compliance
View or Filter your Messages
In the table of your messages, you can directly view the identified partners. You can also filter these fields or sort them.
Partners IN and OUT in list of messages
The information is also available in the message detail screen:
Partners IN and OUT in Message Detail Screen
If you have set Additional allowed partners, they will appear in this message detail screen as well.
Related Items
Related items allow you to navigate very quickly through the application.
Related items of partner
Note that if you are dynamically assigning partners in your transformations (or document extractor extra processings), they will not be listed here.
Restrict Document Access
If some of your users are meant to only have READ access to a subset of documents you can group them by partners. You can then enforce that documents tied to "Robin Inc" are only available to Portal users who have access to the partner "Robin Inc". When they log in, they will have access to a document list that only includes documents that have "Robin Inc" as a partner:
This feature is explained in greater detail in a dedicated chapter.
Enrich Message Data
In transformations, you may find that you don't have all the partner information required to populate your message out. You will need to enrich it with additional information. If you maintain your partners with all the relevant data, you can fetch this data during message processing and guarantee to always have up to date and valid information in your outgoing messages:
