4.5.1. Installing and Using Connectors
Installing a Connector
Hopefully, installing connectors should be extremely easy! Especially since the whole point of the feature is to bring down the complexity of building channels. To install a connector, browse the connector catalog at Manage and Build > Connectors > View Catalog:
In this example you see the PEPPOL Testbed connector which is maintained by Babelway. If you or your colleagues create connectors, this is where you will find them too.
Select the connector you would like to install. You will arrive on screens that vary entirely based on the parameters specific to this connector's setup. Complete all the steps in the connector and activate it.
The activation creates and deploys the channels and other components prescribed by the connector using the input you provided during the connector configuration. This can take a little bit of time. At the end of the process, you can look at the related items of your connector and you will find all the channels that are tied to it. All channel components are non-editable:
Detaching a Connector
In order to recover control on the individual components you can detach the connector (using Delete and keep channels). The channels will remain but they will no longer be linked to the connector. They won't benefit from future connector definition updates. This action cannot be undone. If you were to reinstall the connector, new channels would be created.
Deleting a Connector
You can also delete the connector entirely, this clears out all the build components tied to the connector as if you had gone into related items and deleted the items one by one. This too cannot be undone.
